I love the dining scene in NYC, especially since outdoor dining became the norm post-COVID. Luckily, many restaurants still offer sidewalk and patio seating, which feels like a real win. That said, as anyone who’s spent time here knows, NYC is also notorious for restaurants that rush you out the door. Table turnover feels like an Olympic sport!
After traveling in Europe, the thing I miss most is lounging outside with a glass of wine and watching the world go by. I’ve been missing Rome on and off this past month, and I’m pretty sure that nostalgic feeling inspired this roundup.
Contrary to popular belief, that kind of slow, easy outdoor dining isn’t always easy to find in NYC (mostly because of the fast turnover). I’ve been on the hunt for European-inspired cafés for a while now, and these five spots have become my go-to gems for sipping good wine and lingering for a while.
