I always have and continue to dream of living in NYC, ask anyone who knows me. I moved to Dublin City from the Irish countryside and it did fill that part of me that yearned for the city life and bigger community, but I think I’ve already grown out of it, I need something more and I know it’s New York. It’s going to take me some time to get there but for now I’m seriously enjoying living vicariously through you! Thank you for the insider scoop and incredible pictures ❤️
Thank you so much, Aoife (gorgeous name, btw) ! New York City is such a special place. I've lived here for five years and can tell you (based on first hand experience) that there's plenty to do to keep you occupied for a lifetime. I really hope you make the move when the time is right for you, the city is magic!! Until then, I'll be taking and sharing tons of photos with you!
As a transplant myself, I’ve enjoyed your musings on the inimitable qualities that make this city so exceptional. I feel that magic every day - imbued in every character I encounter. Thanks for writing this!
Hey Rey, thank you so much for your kind words! It makes me glad to hear my musings resonate with fellow transplants. The magic is real, we are so lucky to experience living in New York!
Loved this. You have me missing my city. I was a stalwart local for almost ten years, two decades ago. She will always be a love of my life. Thanks for a little heart swell this morning!
Oh, how I love this. There’s a something about New York—the place I’ve never lived in and probably never will—but the pull and connection I feel to the city is so magical. I often like to think that maybe I lived there in a past life… Every time I’ve visited I’ve fallen more and more in love. Thank you for bringing joy into my day!
Recently I achieved a Bucket List Dream to enjoy a sojourn in Manhattan. For 15 years since my daughter earned her graduate degree @ NYU I have fully embraced the city. I, too, love NYC. In November I rented a friend’s UES studio in an historic brownstone. Instead of a hotel room I pretended I LIVED in this rarified environment in a charmingly cozy Turn of the Century brownstone. In NYC I feel exhilarated and MUCH younger!! Rich history, architecture, theatre, museums, shopping, dining, freedom to recreate oneself is offered 24/7. At Bryant Park Holiday Market I purchased a cosmetic bag, “New York Is My Boyfriend” says it all!
Sharron, thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! It sounds like you truly immersed yourself in New York, living like a local and soaking in everything that makes this city so special. I LOVE that you felt exhilarated and MUCH younger - I believe it! Also - I need to get my hands on that cosmetic bag, that's hilarious!
